Frequently asked questions
What is ORB?
ORB is a free operating system built on Linux. You can customise everything about it, and it has AI built in, so you can change it just by asking.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. ORB is free to download and always will be. Optional extras like ORB hardware and the ORB Bundle are available for those who want them.
Will it run on my computer?
Most likely. ORB is designed for most Windows PCs and laptops, including many older ones that can't run the latest Windows. A lighter version, ORB Lite, is made for older machines.
Do I need to know Linux?
Not at all. ORB is designed for everyday people, and the built-in AI helps you with anything along the way.
Can I use my favourite apps?
Yes. The ORB App Store has thousands of free apps, and many Windows and Android apps can run on ORB too.
Can I try it without changing my computer?
Yes. You can run ORB from a USB stick and try it out without installing anything.
Can I keep using Google, Bing or other search engines?
Yes. ORB comes with Unibrowser, but you can switch to the search engine and browser you prefer with one tap.
Is my data private?
ORB's AI runs on your own device wherever possible, and ORB's agents stay inside the ORB ecosystem, so your data stays with you.
When can I get it?
