About ORB Idea Tech

Technology that is powerful, beautifully designed and made for people.

Inspired by NeXT

In 1985, Steve Jobs founded NeXT. Its black cube computer was bold and ahead of its time, the World Wide Web was invented on one, and its software became the foundation of the Mac and the iPhone.

Where NeXT had the black cube, we have the black orb. NeXT was built on Unix; ORB is built on Linux, its open-source cousin. The difference is that ORB belongs to everyone.

What ORB means

ORB stands for Object Request Broker, the technology that lets programs find and talk to each other. Add IT and you get ORBIT: everything connected, everything revolving around you.

Computing is a necessity, like water.

A computer isn't a luxury anymore. ORB keeps the door open for everyone: free to use, and kept running by the organisations that rely on it.
